After seven years of collecting thousands of pounds of food for greater Charlotte area families, Food Lion and the Carolinas Student Hunger Drive participants are expected to collect 1 million pounds of food.
More than 200 high school students will gather at 6 p.m., Oct. 3 at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina at 500-B Spratt St., in Charlotte, N.C., to kick off the friendly high school food drive competition that will last for the next six weeks.
Beginning this week, Food Lion customers can earn a $20 coupon in FREE groceries by shopping at Food Lion using their personal MVP card. The “Easy as Pie” promotion runs through Nov. 22 and is a simple way for customers to watch their savings grow.
Now through Oct. 11, Food Lion shoppers can save a quarter with every private brand item purchased, up to $10, during the grocer's "Quarter Back" promotion. A purchase of at least four private brand products with an MVP card will earn shoppers a coupon good on their next shopping trip.
In 2016, Food Lion Feeds partnered with Food Lion customers to provide
more than 1 million meals to families in need through the sale of
special Food Lion Feeds reusable bags sold in its stores. The grocer is
now inviting kids ages 5-14 to participate in its Food Lion Feeds
“Summers Without Hunger” Design-a-Reusable-Bag Contest. The winning
design will be featured on Food Lion Feeds reusable bag, which will be
sold in more than 1,000 stores in
Food Lion is partnering with its customers to help solve hunger by
launching specially marked Food Lion Feeds bagged apples for sale in its
stores today. In its third year, the bagged apple campaign will help
provide over 1 million meals to families facing hunger in local
communities across the grocer’s 10-state footprint.
Fairgoers from across the state will be able to get into the Virginia State Fair for $5 cheaper after donating five cans of Food Lion branded product in exchange for a coupon off the regular $15 admission. Youth and senior tickets will be just $6 instead of $11, with the donation.
All food will be donated to FeedMore to help the nearly 200,000 Central Virginians who face hunger. Through its comprehensive program and network of nearly 300 partner agencies, FeedMore distributes 51,000 meals each
In celebration of Feeding America's® Hunger Action Month™, Food Lion
will join this powerful movement by remodeling and stocking the shelves
at more than 30 local food pantries across its 10-state footprint during
its second annual "The Great Pantry Makeover." Hunger Action Month is a
nationwide campaign that mobilizes communities to take action to help
SALISBURY, N.C. — Today, Food Lion has announced it will add six zip codes, including 28217, 28212, 28134, 28226, 28277 and 28270, to its grocery delivery service area in the Charlotte, N.C., region, in partnership with Instacart. The expansion follows a successful pilot of the service in May 2016, enabling the grocer to offer customers convenience while continuing to deliver on its promise to ensure an easy, fresh and affordable grocery shopping experience.
Now through Aug. 16, customers who purchase 5 or more participating products in one transaction at Food Lion will receive a reward code at checkout valid for a $10 Digital Reward through its School of Champions promotion.
To qualify, customers must purchase five participating items in one transaction using their MVP card to receive a reward code at the register. Next, they should visit www.foodlion.com/champions, enter the reward code, where they will receive a $10 Digital Reward which can be
