Many economically depressed children attending Devonshire Elementary School in Charlotte, N.C, will have a much brighter holiday season this year thanks to The Loss Prevention Foundation, supported by the Loss Prevention and Safety Departments from Food Lion and Lowe’s.
The team raised over $10,000 to provide approximately 104 new bikes to students at Devonshire through the Adopt-A-Bike program. In addition to the bikes, each child received a gift card toward the purchase of a helmet, and a $25 gift card from Food Lion to support hunger relief over the holidays.
The Adopt-A-Bike program, facilitated through the Universal Surveillance Systems Foundation, donates free bicycles to disadvantaged children at schools across the nation to encourage them to work hard, obey the rules, stay in school and break the cycle of poverty.
