Charlotte, N.C.-Based Radio Station Kiss 95.1 Features Food Lion on “Hometown Tour” of Salisbury, N.C.
This week, Charlotte, N.C.-based radio station Kiss 95.1 selected Salisbury, N.C., as part of its “Hometown Tour.” As a major employer and important part of the community in Salisbury, Food Lion was selected to be featured on the morning show on Friday April 18.
Morning show host Drex visited the Salisbury Food Lion store on Jake Alexander Blvd. to feature an interview with Store Manager Shane Valley. He also engaged customers Brenda, Robert and Cassandra in a “Price is Right” competition to guess the price of several Easter-themed Food Lion private brand items, including My Essentials Spiral Ham, a 5 lb. Bag of White Potatoes, my essentials Cut Green Beans, Food Lion Deli Salad, and an 8-inch Apple Pie.
The total meal cost before MVP savings were applied was $48.62. After MVP savings, the cost of the meal came to $30.55, an $18 savings overall. All three customers had close guesses; however, Robert was ultimately named the winner of the “Food Lion Price is Right” competition with a guess of $22.50.
As a reward, Food Lion has made a $500 donation to partner agency Rowan Helping Ministries in Robert’s name to help feed our Salisbury neighbors in need. Additionally, all three customers received exclusive t-shirts and $50 in Food Lion gift cards.
