Food Lion to Donate More Than $15,000 in Food and Monetary Contributions to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina

What: Food Lion will be donating store brand products worth more than $10,000 to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina in its efforts to help families in need across 18 North Carolina counties, from Boone to Burlington. The food bank will also receive a $5,000 donation on behalf of the Food Lion Charitable Foundation.

Who: Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina and Food Lion volunteers will be available for media interviews after unloading a truck delivering non-perishable store brand products.

Details: On Thursday, Food Lion will donate more than $10,000 in non-perishable store brand product to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. The grocer is also presenting a $5,000 Food Lion Charitable Foundation donation. The product donation will include a variety of non-perishable products, such as canned vegetables, peanut butter and cereal, among other items.
