Food Lion Feeds Donates $100,000 to A Touch of the Father’s Love Ministry and Food Pantry

Donation will help food pantry continue efforts to nourish neighbors in need

SALISBURY, N.C. – Food Lion Feeds is donating $100,000 to A Touch of the Father's Love Ministry and Food Pantry to help the Spring Hope, N.C., organization purchase a new facility and support more neighbors.

"The services provided by A Touch of the Father's Love are integral to our neighbors in Nash County, so we jumped at the opportunity to support our community partner," said Trish Bednarz, Director of Operations, Food Lion. "Food Lion Feeds' investment for A Touch of the Father's Love new location will benefit the area for years to come."

According to A Touch of the Father's Love, their food pantry addresses a critical need in Nash County, where more than 17% of families are food insecure and approximately 55% of children receive free or reduced school lunches. The food pantry distributed over 2 million pounds of food in 2021, helping feed more than 188,000 people.

Through Food Lion Feeds, Food Lion's hunger relief platform, the company has donated more than 900 million meals to individuals and families since 2014 and has committed to donate 1.5 billion meals by 2025.

Established in 2012, A Touch of the Father's Love ministry and food pantry is a 501(c)(3) whose goal is to alleviate food insecurity through the distribution of healthy and nutritious food while instilling hope for struggling senior citizens, families, children, and veterans.
