Food Lion Opens New Store in Falling Waters, W. Va.; Creates 60 Jobs

Grand Opening Festivities on Wednesday, Nov. 9; First 200 Customers to Receive Free Reusable Bag Filled with Store Brand Products

Food Lion will open its new store located at 78 Worchester Drive on Wednesday, Nov. 9, with a pharmacy. The grand opening festivities will start at 7:45 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first 200 customers to enter the store Wednesday will receive a free Food Lion reusable bag filled with store brand products. In addition, customers visiting the store on Wednesday will be able to register for an in-store shopping spree. Food Lion will also make a $1,000 community gift to local schools.

Matt Webber, who has worked at Food Lion for 14 years, will serve as the store manager. “We are dedicated to being Falling Water’s neighborhood grocery store,” Webber said. “Food Lion is committed to offering an expanded selection of quality products at great prices and providing an outstanding shopping experience to our customers.”

The store is approximately 35,000 square feet and has 60 associates. The store has a number of amenities for customers including a fresh produce department, a deli/bakery with in-store decorated cakes, Sara Lee specialty meats, cheeses and breads, as well as a large meat department featuring Butcher’s Brand Premium Beef ®, fresh pork, poultry, seafood, along with a large selection of groceries and Pharmacy. In addition, customers can access a variety of convenience services, such as Western Union, Rug Doctor rentals, Blue Rhino propane exchange, ATM, and Coinstar machine.
