Food Lion Re-Opens Four Stores in the Outer Banks, N.C.; Free Water Distributions Continue

SALISBURY, N.C. – Food Lion has re-opened four stores in the Outer Banks of North Carolina this morning to serve customers in this region. The four stores include:

  • 5200 South Croatan Highway, Nags Head, N.C.
  • 2515 South Croatan Highway, Nags Head, N.C.
  • 1720 North Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, N.C.
  • 5543 North Croatan Highway, Southern Shores, N.C.

In addition, Food Lion continues to respond to our communities affected by Hurricane Irene by distributing water at four locations while supplies last today. The locations include:

  • Highway 64 and LaKeiser Road, Columbia, N.C.
  • 1720 North Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, N.C.
  • 101 Park Drive Highway 168-S, Moyock, N.C.
  • 1316 North Broad St., Edenton, N.C.

"Food Lion dispatched trucks with water and ice to support our communities during this time of need,” said Bill Garcia, manager of community relations at Delhaize America. “Over the next several days, we are working in partnership with disaster response agencies to assess other community needs to support the recovery efforts from Hurricane Irene, including donations to the American Red Cross."

Food Lion will also deliver a truckload of food items and cleaning supplies to the American Red Cross to support North Carolina victims this morning.

Food Lion remains focused on protecting the safety of its customers and associates. The company has reopened the majority of its stores in eastern North Carolina affected by Hurricane Irene, and is working as quickly as possible to reopen the remainder of its stores as soon as conditions are safe for customers and associates.
