Food Lion Selects Top Four Area Educators and Students During Food Lion/ CIAA Education Day Event Wednesday

Hundreds of CMS Students Attended Event at Convention Center
Today, Food Lion awarded four local educators and more than 50 Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools top students with special gifts Wednesday at the 2015 Food Lion CIAA Education Day.
The free event was attended by hundreds of middle and high school students, at the Charlotte Convention Center. Students listened to Food Lion leaders about why they should stay in school to better their chances at a good career.
Food Lion Director of Diversity & Inclusion Millette Granville presented four local teachers with a $50 Food Lion gift card, phone charger and other items.
The top teacher prizes were award to the following:
- Jennifer Weter of Bradley Middle School
- Terrance Daniels of Eastway Middle School
- John French of Smith Middle School
- Carita Evans-Gist of Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School
Food Lion Director of Category Management Adrian Baker also presented more than 50 students who excelled with a 4.0 or above in academics. Each received a Food Lion portable phone charger and Food Lion journals.
