What: Food Lion is donating 30,000 meals to Food Bank of the Albemarle in order to restock Albemarle Food Pantry, located on-site at the food bank in advance of its May 9 grand opening in Elizabeth City, N.C.
Food Lion believes it truly represents the towns and cities it serves. This donation reflects its commitment to the Elizabeth City, N.C., community, which it is proud to be a member of. The effort also supports the grocer's pledge to provide 500 million meals by the end of 2020 through its Food Lion Feeds hunger-relief platform, because no one should have to make tough choices such as between dinner and rent, or gas and groceries.

Details: In advance of its May 9 grand opening, Food Lion is restocking Albemarle Food Pantry with 30,000 meals in order to help feed those in the Elizabeth City, N.C., area who may be in need. The new store will replace a previous Farm Fresh grocery store and is located at 683 S. Hughes Blvd. in Elizabeth City, N.C.
