Based on increased in-store coupon usage, Food Lion is planning to add more MVP Savings Center kiosks inside their stores to help customers immediately start saving money on their grocery bills.

Food Lion announced today its continuing support of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament. As a major corporate sponsor, Food Lion invites its customers and CIAA fans to enjoy a number of events this year sponsored by their grocer of choice, including the women's tournament, a health and wellness symposium and the Miss CIAA Pageant.
The Food Lion Family and Bloom recently recognized Scott Brinson as the recipient of the 2010 Store Manager Excellence Award. Brinson, who is the store manager of Food Lion located at 2200 Gumbranch Road in Jacksonville, N.C., was selected from a group of seven other market/banner winners.
"There were other people who could have won it, but I guess I was the lucky one this year," Brinson said. "It is a humbling experience for me because this is such a prestigious award."
In the recent eighth annual "Hunger Has a Cure" campaign, Food Lion Family and Bottom Dollar Food raised a record 1.5 million pounds of food to support local food banks affiliated with Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity.
The campaign offered customers the opportunity to purchase ready-made food boxes or donate food in bins. Roughly 250,000 boxes were sold in the effort, which ran from Nov. 17-Dec. 28.

Harveys Supermarket and its customers are partnering with FirstFruits Marketing ofWashington this holiday season to donate thousands of pounds of apples to needy families through its "Take a Bite Out of Hunger" campaign. The campaign began in October and will run through January 31.
