For a sixth- consecutive year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) has recognized Food Lion LLC with an ENERGY STAR® partner award.
Wednesday evening, Food Lion was recognized with the ENERGY STAR
Sustained Excellence 2007 Award for its outstanding and continued
leadership in protecting the environment through energy efficiency and
superior energy management. Food Lion received the award at a ceremony
in Washington, D.C.
Food Lion LLC and the Food Lion Charitable Foundation Inc., raised and
donated approximately $9.25 million to non-profit organizations in 2006.

the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's new GreenChill partnership,
an initiative through which companies pledge to go above and beyond
regulatory requirements in protecting the ozone layer and reducing
greenhouse gas emissions.
Now through Dec. 30, all Food Lion stores are participating in the
"Shopping for Second Harvest" campaign to support local food banks
affiliated with the America's Second Harvest Network. All donations will
stay in the communities where given to feed the hungry.
