SALISBURY, N.C. — One in five students on college campuses is food insecure – lacking reliable access to sufficient quantities of food – which can have a devastating impact on their ability to achieve academic success. As part of its ongoing efforts to end hunger in local communities, Food Lion Feeds will donate more than 44,000 meals to four Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) colleges and universities this week.
This Valentine’s Day week, select soup kitchens that do outstanding work
for their communities will receive some love from Food Lion Feeds as
they are recognized as “Souper Star Kitchens.” As part of the
recognition, Food Lion associate volunteers will donate soup and other
food items as well as help prepare and serve meals for hungry families.
In addition, the grocer will provide a special token of appreciation to
the volunteers and staff at

SALISBURY, N.C. – Food Lion will celebrate the grand opening of its newest North Carolina store, located at 161 Crenshaw Corners Drive, in Wake Forest, N.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 31. The new store will have about 90 associates, with approximately 25 new jobs created in the Wake Forest community.
Starting today, more Food Lion customers in the greater Raleigh, N.C., area can have their groceries delivered to their door. Through their partnership with Instacart, Food Lion is making fresh and affordable shopping as easy as opening an app for its Sanford, N.C., area customers.
Now through Feb. 6, Food Lion customers have the opportunity to save up to $40 during the grocer's "Playoff Payoff" promotion when they buy participating items using their personal MVP card. Customers may activate and track their progress on Food Lion's website or mobile app.

Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits in an abundance of caution after being
notified by its manufacturer today the product may contain listeria
While there have been no reports of illnesses to date, the product is
being recalled as a precautionary measure after T. Marzetti Company, the
manufacturer of the product, indicated a possible contamination with
Food Lion recently renewed a three-year corporate partnership agreement
with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), making the
24-year corporate partnership one of the longest for the conference.
This agreement continues Food Lion's commitment as the official
Supermarket Partner of the CIAA and the title sponsor for the CIAA
Women's Basketball Tournament, which will take place February 27 – March
3, 2018, in Charlotte, N.C
On Dec. 12, Food
Lion will celebrate 60 years of nourishing the communities it
serves. To commemorate this important milestone and preserve its rich
heritage, the company will randomly select customers to win 60 percent
off their purchase at each of its more than 1,000 locations, as well as
