What: Food Lion will host a “Service Dog” Appreciation day today from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at one of its stores to raise awareness about service dogs and raise critical funds for training of service dogs.

When: Friday Sept. 28 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Details: On Friday, Sept. 28, Food Lion will host a “Service Dog” Appreciation Day to raise awareness about service dog and raise critical funds for training new dogs. Local residents can receive literature about the dogs, as well as purchase a $3 meal, with all proceeds going directly to Second Chance Canine’s training facility.

In addition, Food Lion also plans to donate $5,000 to Second Chance Canine, a non-profit organization providing training for service dogs.
