Food Lion to Launch “Thriller on the Griller at the Beach” Events to Benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®

Organizers Planning to Raise $150,000 at 13 Food Lion Stores June 14-July 4

Food Lion will host its 12th annual “Thriller on the Griller at the Beach” event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at its store located at South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, S.C., to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in North Carolina and South Carolina.

The series of events will tour additional Food Lion beach-based stores through July 4. Food Lion customers will have several options to support CMN-H. For a small donation, customers have the opportunity to purchase lunch donated by vendors and bid on silent auction items such as bicycles, golf bags and autographed memorabilia at the “Thriller on the Griller” events.

“Food Lion offers ‘Thriller on the Griller’ events as a fun and creative way for our customers to support children and their families who receive medical care from local CMN hospitals,” said Joe Stock, director of operations and event organizer. “Last year, our vendors, customers and associates helped us to raise more than $135,000 for local CMN hospitals. We are hoping to raise $150,000 this year through these family-friendly summer events.”

• June 17 – Food Lion, 9380 Ocean Highway, Pawley’s Island, S.C.

• June 22 – Food Lion, 2608 Main Street, Conway, S.C.

• June 23 – Food Lion, 1775 Clipperway, Sunset Beach, N.C.

• June 24 – Food Lion, 1100 Sabbeth Horne Road, southwest Holden Beach, N.C.

• June 25 – Food Lion, 5901 East Oak Island Drive, Oak Island, N.C.

• June 29 – Food Lion, 1401 North Lake Park Blvd., Carolina Beach, N.C.

• June 30 – Food Lion, Route 50 Near Route 210, Surf City, N.C.
